Removing Synchronisation
Note: It important that you don’t just delete the file or folder from your File Explorer. By doing this, you are also deleting the file and / or folder from SharePoint.
Remember, once you synchronise your company device to SharePoint, even though you access files and folders from your desktop (File Explorer folder) they are still directly connected to SharePoint, and any changes you make will reflect in SharePoint. Including the deletion of files and folders.
To remove the synchronisation feature with SharePoint from your company device, you first need to open OneDrive by clicking on the icon in the bottom right corner of your desktop.

Once One Drive is open, Select ‘Help & Settings’ in the bottom right corner.
From the list of options, Select Settings.

A Microsoft One Drive window will open. From there it will list all the SharePoint libraries you have synced to your device.
You can now Stop Syncing to one or more of the libraries by selecting the ‘Stop Sync’ button, and clicking confirm on the next pop up.
Or
You can click ‘Choose Folders’ within one of the synced libraries. You can then deselect or select individually what folders and files you want to continue or stop syncing your company device with.

Once you have removed the synchronisation, you can then delete the files and folders from your company device, without impacting SharePoint.
