Downloading a document
Once you have located the standardised document you need from the Operating Framework, you can download it to your desktop. You can do this one of three ways:
> Download to desktop
> Open in browser
> Open in App (Microsoft Software: e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point etc...)
Hover your mouse on the document(s) you would like to select. A circle next to the document(s) name will appear.
Click the circle.

In the tool bar at the top click Download.

The file will now be downloaded to your computer, to find the downloaded file in your search bar at the bottom of your desktop screen, type ‘Download’, and click the download folder once it appears.
>You can also find the download folder via your File Explorer and your
‘Windows Start Menu’.
Once you have located the file in your ‘Downloads’ folder you can drag and drop it to your desktop. From there you can open the document like any other document and edit.
If you open the file ‘In Browser’ (internet page) or ‘In App’ (Microsoft software) you will need to save the file to your desktop before you can edit. To do this click ‘Save As’ from the top left ‘File’ tab.
Note: The GMI Operational Framework is a read only system, which means you must download the standardised document you want to work on, before you upload to SharePoint where you can work on collaboratively with your colleagues. More on this in the ‘SharePoint - How To Guide.’
